PCBs Found in Fish Oil Supplements
Fish oil supplements contain omega-3 fatty acids, which are touted for their anti-inflammatory, heart-protective benefits. However, fish oil supplements have come under concern from environmental research groups who say the supplements contain polychlorinated biphenyls or PCBs. These harmful compounds have been detected in varying amounts in fish oil supplements. Manufacturers have taken extra steps to minimize PCBs.
